And It Is So by Dean Ludden
Credo in unum Deum
bearing such extravagance
each particle of self is shared,
infused in us, all blessed to join
creation's chorus
there, from nothing,
through our fingers flow
the words, equations,
song and science,
breathed into our nostrils,
soulhood's chosen company,
self-blind, no Eden there
to draw our love,
the gnawing need alone
makes pure desire until
we see within that source
of grace... on us bestowed
the gift of sight, and from it
worlds are born, divine delight
enkindled, humanity
may simply revel at the feast,
to taste and see, to dance,
and finally to rest,
and in that 7th journal note
that it is good.
