The Sound of Style
This phrase describes a music format
which is quite unlike that
heard on other community or
commercial radio. The format was introduced to Australia by Terry
Gaynon and Ian Maurice. It is
similar to but not quite the
same as the format known overseas as
"New Adult Contemporary / Smooth
Jazz". It has features of
R&B, soul, and cool jazz,
among others.
It is a format enjoyed by discerning
listeners of all ages especially
those in managerial and professional
positions.
The station plays this format
between 6am and 7pm Monday to
Friday and from midnight to
6am each day. There are some
other programs outside these
hours which play similar music.
To check the NAC/Smooth Jazz charts, listen to music
samples or
to find out about purchasing CDs go to "Sound of Style
Music".
Sound
of Style Music
The format known as " The Sound of Style" is unique to
2CCR-FM.
It is similar, but not identical to the overseas format
- New Adult Contemporary / Smooth Jazz which is gaining in popularity around
the world.
Unfortunately the record companies
and record bars do not support
this format to any great extent
and it is often difficult to
find the tracks that we play. CDs can be ordered through
major record bars but be prepared
to pay a premium and wait
a considerable time for the stores
to import them.
The music can be ordered from
the US on the Internet. Prices are
reasonable and the major suppliers are geared up to deliver
CDs to
your door in a very short time.
We cannot recommend any
particular supplier but we have included links to some
suppliers that announcers from 2CCR-FM
have used. Click on any
of the sites listed and have a look. Have your credit card
ready for purchases.

We have also included a link
to RR Online which contains a wealth
of information. To see what is charting well in the US
click on "charts"
and "NAC/Smooth Jazz".
You can also listen to
short music clips from these CDs. The site is also linked to a
number of radio stations in the
US where you can view their playlists
and read reviews of new releases. RR Online also
features other formats so whatever
your musical tastes, you
should be catered for on this
site.
