MEMBERSHIP

Cumberland Media Association Inc. is an incorporated Association.
As such we are a non-profit organisation, but that does not mean
that we cannot make a profit, but rather that we cannot distribute it
to our members.  Any profit is put back into improving the
broadcasting equipment and facilities.

Membership is open to individuals and organisations.  Members
can take part in station activities including broadcasting. Meetings
are held each quarter and the station publishes a quarterly newsletter.
Members can stand and vote for positions on the Board of
management at the annual general meeting.

The Association is bound by a set of Rules which have been
approved by the Australian Broadcasting Authority and the
Department of Fair Trading.  Under our Rules, an applicant for
membership is nominated and seconded by existing members but
with a policy of open membership, this is a formality.

Membership runs from 1 July of each year until 30 June.  Members
have until 31 July in which to renew their membership.  Under the
Rules if renewal is not effected by that time, membership lapses and
a fresh application for membership is required.

A non-profit group may obtain Group Membership.  Concessional
Membership is available to students, pensioners, or those receiving
Social Security benefits. Those applying for Concessional
Membership must quote their student/benefit number.

Membership costs are as follows:

        Normal membership....................................$22.00 per annum
        Group membership......................................$49.50 per annum
        Concessional membership...........................$11.00 per annum

* As from 1st July 2000 GST of 10% is included in these amounts.

If you want further information about joining, please ring the station
during business hours on 9686 3888.  An application form has been
provided for you to copy and print.  Please return this with your
cheque/postal order etc.  Your application will be nominated,
seconded and placed before the next meeting of the Board for
approval.
